Personal Profile

Amanda Williamson

Amanda started her career as a Primary School teacher in Bingham, Nottinghamshire, after completing a Bachelor of Education Honours Degree at the University of East Anglia. She went on to become a Key Stage Coordinator and member of a School Management Team.

In 2002, after fifteen years in Education, she embarked on a change of career - she knew she wanted to work with adults but didn’t know then in what capacity.

Having worked to upgrade her IT skills and qualifying as a tutor of Adult Literacy, she was then offered an innovative and interesting role, supporting adults with health issues to make practical changes to their life and work.

The post brought her into close contact with a range of health professionals; GPs, Counsellors and Health Visitors, who are increasingly aware that tackling lifestyle issues can be an effective way to improve health and well-being. In 2006, after five years, her successful and pioneering work was recognised with a European Social Fund Award: Winner of Best Individual in a Supporting Role.

Spiral Life Coaching was launched in September 2007 following on from previous successes.
